The conditions for bulk classification are created in the Write in Bulk classification dialog. The dialogue contains three parts:

  • List of conditions

  • Category and rule definiton of selected condition

  • Class definiton of selected condition

Conditions

The conditions section displays a list of conditions. Here the user has the possibility to create, copy, rename or delete conditions. Conditions can also be exported and imported from an external xml file for transferring conditions between workstations.

The condition highlighted in red is not sufficiently defined.

Catgories

For the currently selected condition, the user determines to which Revit categories the condition will be applied.

Condition Rules

For the currently selected condition, the user sets the rules that will be used to determine if the element meets the condition. If the element meets the condition, it will be classified according to the condition settings.

A rule-based filter contains one or more sets of rules. Each rule set contains one or more rules or nested rule sets. There is no limit to the number of rules and rulesets that can be defined. Each rule set uses a condition that the user selects from a menu:

To select all elements of a category, choose the Without rules option.

The rule highlighted in red is not sufficiently defined.

Condition class

In the right part of the dialog, the user selects the facet and the class of the condition that will be used to classify all elements that meet the condition. The user has the possibility to search the classes in the same way as during the standard element classification.
