The dialog Edit Custom Properties can also be launched from the context menu after right-click. The dialog offers two tabs.

The first one Custom properties (1), allows to fill the data and is divided into two parts, Properties (standard Fusion properties) and Custom Properties (user defined properties)

The second one, Settings (2), allows define any number of custom properties which will be stored with the given model. Standard properties Fusion are extended with one 'Full Path' property (3), which displays the path to the active document or selected reference document and is read-only.

The definition of custom properties can be performed on the Settings tab.

Here are three buttons:

  1. Add the list of custom properties (1).

  2. Delete the list of custom properties (2).

  3. Save the list of custom properties (3).

This button (3) stores the settings into an external XML file. Any changes are reflected after closing and reopening of the dialog. On clicking the button (1), a prompt line (4) is added, here you can enter the name of the custom property. The button (2) deletes the selected property.

The allowed characters to name a custom property include 0-9, a-z, A-Z, space, minus sign and underscore. On entering another (1) character, you will receive a warning message (2) and you won’t be allowed to save (3). When removing the invalid character the message will disappear and the Save button (3) will be re/enabled.

If no entity for storing custom properties is selected, the button OK is unavailable. You can close the dialog using the Cancel button or by pressing the Esc key.

Filling-in the custom properties (3)

Starts by selecting the entity (1), to which you want to store the data, and if some data was already filled-in, it will be displayed in the dialog. Part Number, Part Name and Description are the same as in the context menu Properties of the selected entity.

BOM Structure (2) is a switch of how the entity will be labeled in the structured BOM.
